Hawaii Real Estate, Wailuku

Wailuku Town is situated at the foot of the West Maui Mountains. As the government center of the island, you'll find State & County offices located here, along with the historic Market Street area. Lined with antique stores, pawn shops, very good eateries, trendy boutiques and the landmark Iao Theater; old Wailuku Town provides a glimpse back to an earlier time in Maui's history.
Houses in Wailuku range from tiny wooden structures to larger homes with gracious touches like high ceilings and big kitchens from another era to brand new, big houses with all the modern conveniences in newly built subdivisions. Despite the busy streets and all the activity around the town center, and the various industrial and commercial areas scattered through Wailuku, the residential areas seem to retain a quiet dignity -- mindful, perhaps of times past. Newer Wailuku homes in Central Maui are being built on the lower levels of the West Maui Mountains offering panoramic views of our island paradise.

Wonderful areas are part of the community include:
Iao Valley State Park
Visit the impressive Iao Needle amongst towering cliffs and majestic waterfall’s. The crystal clear water is the perfect temperature on a warm Maui day (which is almost year round). Hike into lush rainforests or relax in the flourishing garden that's nestled at the basin of the valley and spend the entire morning if you wish.
Kepaniwai Park
Free admission. Park commemorates the various different ethnic groups that have settled in Hawaii. Interesting and a nice serene spot. Nice views of the West Maui mountains.
Bailey House Museum
Run by the Maui Historical Society, points to Wailuku's days as the early center of western culture on Maui. The Museum is a former missionary home; a stone and plaster structure completed in 1850.
Iao Theater
Opened in 1928 this theater was once the main entertainment venue of the city of Wailuku, on Maui. Besides screening movies, it featured live stage acts, and such stars as Bob Hope and Frank Sinatra made appearances. It is now home to the Maui OnStage, which produces and hosts live theater and other events at the facility.
Maui Tropical Plantation
